Family Recreation

A twenty mile drive brings you to the city of Pembroke. Here are picturesque wall murals, a heritage museum, a Junior A Hockey Team, two golf courses and store, super market and mall shopping.

Near Pembroke is the largest Canadian military base which welcomes visitors to their museum. Nearby an experimental forest conducts tours. Algonquin Park, the oldest national park in North America is another twenty minute ride. The largest limestone cave in the world, Bonnechere Caves, is just south of Pembroke.

Travel east on Route 148 from Chichester along the shore of the Ottawa River, see the second largest covered bridge in Canada, the Coulonge Gorge, and for the adventurous, spend a day white water rafting with Canadas national white water champions as your guides.

One hundred miles, two hours drive, is the capital city of Ottawa, offering events and sights too numerous to mention.

On the farm are opportunities to hike and back-pack along the Lauentian Ridge. Boating and canoeing are available on the nearby lakes and rivers. Maybe you Just want to relax and get away from everything.
