Black Bear Hunting

The Quebec Government established a three week spring bear hunt beginning on 15 May and ending 10 June, and a two week fall bear hunt from November 1st through the 13th.   You may take one bear in the spring and one in the fall under the same license.   One bear of either sex, including cubs may legally be taken but Doe Ridge insists that only adult bears should be shot and never a female with cubs. Conservation is important for all sportsmen.

Hunting is done from elevated stands over bait. Archery or firearms may be used. Assistance will be given to find or remove the animal if required. The hunter is encouraged to gut, skin and butcher the meat but with assistance and instructions from our guides. For a small fee, these chores can be done for you. Hide and meat are frozen.

Your host or guide will assist you in obtaining the necessary permits for U.S. Customs.
